Ps. Philip Mantofa

Senior Pastor

Pastor Philip Mantofa was born in Surabaya on 27th of September, 1974. From his birthplace, he went on to study abroad in Taipei, Singapore, and finally, he repented during his high school days in Vancouver, Canada. Two years after he received his undergraduate degree from a Bible school, when riots broke out in Indonesia in May 1998 to be exact, he decided to return to his homeland for the sake of preaching the gospel. The GMS he leads has become a fast-growing church that will soon break the 100.000 membership mark in numerous local churches spread out nationwide, even to Southeast Asia and Australia. At a young age, he has witnessed more than 200.000 souls who got saved as he led them to Christ. His passion is to fan into flame the fire of spiritual awakening everywhere, and to raise up anointed pastors and leaders in every field--especially in Asia.

Above all, his greatest vision is to build 1.000 strong local churches with 1.000.000 disciples; and he will not stop until every nation on this earth encounters the Lord Jesus Christ personally, Philip is happily married to Irene Saphira, and they are blessed with 3 children; Vanessa, Jeremy, and Warren.

Ps. Mulyadi Budiyanto

Pastor Mulyadi Budiyanto or more familiarly known as Pastor Mil came to know Christ in 1992 in the city of Los Angeles. He started his ministry as a church planter, Leadership Trainer and local pastor. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University (USA) and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary (USA).
Currently he serves as Regional Pastor for USA & Canada.
He is married and blessed with a happy household with Juluan Bahri and 2 children; Chloe Andrea Budiyanto & Darren Nathaniel Budiyanto

Ps. Hotma Togar Manurung

Local Pastor of NYC

Pastor Togar Manurung (Pastor Oge) was born in Pematang Siantar on August 9th, 1980. He grew up in a Christian family in Malaysia, God touched Pastor Togar, and brought back him from a self-destructive person into a person who loves God. He started his ministry in a small student church. From there, the passion for the young people came into his heart. After graduating from Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, he went back to Medan and joined GMS Medan in 2006, and became a pastor for the young professional community in 2009.

As the church's vision became much clearer, his heart for the island of Sumatra also grew. In 2011, the church sent Ps.Togar and his wife Ps. Nike Wijaya Lios, to plant a church in Pekanbaru City. The GMS Pekanbaru has been growing rapidly and started planting churches in other cities like Dumai, Duri, and also Padang City. Ps. Togar and his wife, along with their 2 beautiful daughters: Samantha and Karissa recently moved to New York City, USA to become the Local Pastor of GMS New York. He is also working on planting GMS Los Angeles.

Pastor Dewantono

Local Pastor of LA

Pastor Dewantono was born in Surabaya in 1976 into a Chinese family who still adheres to the traditions and beliefs of their ancestors. Having experienced a childhood that was not easy, he grew up with many questions and disappointments in his heart that made him depend on his own efforts and strength.

In 2003, God allowed Dewantono to experience many problems continuously until one night at 1 am in his helplessness, he woke up and was 'forced' to pray, there Dewantono experienced a visit from God and made the Lord Jesus the Lord and Savior in his life and immediately made himself a disciple. That was when joined and served Connect Group (CG).

Growing up and maturing in CG, adopting the GMS vision and serving as a volunteer until at the end of 2012 he was called to serve full time at the church. In January 2013 he was sent to serve at GMS Denpasar-Bali. During his 11 years in Bali, Dewantono served in Denpasar and pioneered in the Tabanan, Singaraja and Negara regions.

In January 2024, together with his wife and 2 children - Giselle and Kezia were sent to the USA to serve at GMS LA.

Pastor Jonathan Mays

Local Pastor of Philadelphia

Pastor Jonathan Mays (Pastor Jon) surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in December of 2001. In the beginning of 2002, the Lord called Pastor Jon to the people of Indonesia. He left his home country of the United States of America in September 2002, for Jakarta, Indonesia, to advance the gospel and make disciples among Indonesian students. He spent a total of 16 years serving the Lord in Indonesia in Christian schools as an English teacher, Bible teacher, and Chaplain as well as in and through the local church in the areas of small group ministry, preaching, teaching and church leadership as an elder and pastor. He met his wife, Yellen Angjaya, in Jakarta, where they were married in 2005. They have been a solid team ever since!

Pastor Jon graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration. He earned his Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in 2011.

Pastor Jon and Yellen caught the vision of GMS in May 2023, while attending a revival service in New York City led by GMS’s Senior Pastor, Pastor Philip Mantofa, and hosted by GMS New York. They decided at that time to plant themselves in GMS and adopt the church’s vision of 1,000 strong local churches and 1,000,000 disciples of Christ. By God’s grace Pastor Jon and Yellen have grown quickly with GMS. In July 2024, the couple was commissioned by the mother church, GMS West Surabaya, and Pastor Philip, to lead GMS Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA, where Pastor Jon serves as the Local Pastor. Pastor Jon and Yellen have been blessed with two amazing children: Brennan and Emma Grace.
